About the role:

The Production Supervisor, Solid is responsible for operations, maintenance, planning and efficiencies of operating all lines in the production departments in a Lean Manufacturing environment. The Production Supervisor, Solid has a strong commitment to food and employee safety and ensures compliance for both. Ongoing, consistent application and monitoring of BRC, HACCP, GMP and Health and Safety programs and regulations. The Production Supervisor, Solid ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the embedding and maintaining of the Safety first mindset.
  • Committed to providing a safe food product. Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements.
  • Communicate production schedules and requirements to production teams on a daily basis.
  • Establish obtainable expectations with team members then follow-up to ensure completion.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and encourage staff participation.
  • Direct and inspect the performance of your workforce and their work areas daily.  Check the checks.
  • Oversee completion/improvement process of sanitation schedule, PMs, during your shift.
  • Arrange for re-work of unfinished or damaged products.
  • Communicate with all other departments and staff on production matters.
  • Council / discipline employees as needed.
  • Follow-up with maintenance personnel on the off shift for production related repairs.
  • Overall responsibility for security, safety, shipments, paperwork etc. during off shifts.
  • Perform various manual work in production and minor maintenance repairs when needed.
  • Responsible for the completion of  weekly/daily maintenance plans.
  • Create purchase requisitions for productions as needed.
  • Manage staff requirements. Vacation, time off etc.
  • Participate in Health and Safety initiatives with the JHSC.
  • Evaluate training needs and initiate training when needed.
  • Develop training modules, policies and procedures – Implement OJT’s (On the job Training Plans).
  • Evaluate performance and behavior of individuals including agency, probationary and full-time employees.
  • Conduct accident investigations. Assist with WSIB return to work programs.
  • Complete daily attendance/absence reports and timesheets as required.
  • SAP entries to assist with inventory accuracy.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and direction to production/maintenance employees by coaching and managing in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Meets/exceeds requirements for food and employee safety.

 

About you:

  • College Diploma/Associates Degree in Food Science, Production Management or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a food industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer programs.
  • Leadership, organizational skills, creativity, teamwork.
  • SAP experience an asset.
  • Must be available for 12 hr shift.
  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.
