Melting/Powders Operator 

Barry Callebaut, a world leader in high‑quality chocolate and cocoa products, is seeking a dedicated Melting/Powders Operator to join our production team. This role plays an important part in ensuring the safe and efficient melting of cocoa liquor, butter, oils, and related materials that support our production processes.

What You Will Do

  • Set up and prepare the melting area at the start of each shift
  • Start up, operate, and monitor melting/powders equipment to ensure steady production flow
  • Verify and melt assigned products (cocoa liquor, butter, coconut butter) and ensure proper tank routing
  • Input ingredient usage accurately into SAP
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment; complete all housekeeping requirements
  • Communicate production updates with Supervisors and team members
  • Read and coordinate tank scale measurements
  • Follow all safety procedures, including required PPE usage
  • Complete daily safety inspections and documentation
  • Learn and support additional areas such as mixing, shipping, receiving, drum/tote handling
  • Assist in other production areas when needed (vacation coverage, increased demand, absences)
  • Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and food safety guidelines
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Bring

  • High school diploma
  • Experience using SAP and/or computer systems
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn multiple roles within the production process
  • Reach Forklift experience required

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to move throughout the facility
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs frequently
  • Comfortable standing for long periods on concrete floors
  • Frequent bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching
  • Ability to climb stairs regularly
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions inside the facility

 

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $25
Hours of Work: Continental shift 6:45pm to 7:00am
Shift Details: Night Shift
