The Maintenance Supply Technician plays a critical role in supporting the maintenance department by ensuring the accurate control, organization, and availability of maintenance parts and technical materials. This position focuses solely on maintenance‑related components, not general supply chain or warehouse inventory. The Maintenance Supply Technician receives, organizes, and tracks all spare parts and materials required to keep facility equipment running safely and efficiently.

This role is also an active participant in the site’s Barry Callebaut Operating System (BCOS) journey, supporting standards, loss elimination, and autonomous maintenance progress by ensuring parts availability, accuracy, and proper material flow to enable world‑class maintenance reliability. The Technician is responsible for performing all material transactions in company systems and consistently upholding food safety and employee safety standards in all daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Establish, organize, and maintain the maintenance technical inventory system, ensuring quick and accurate access to parts for equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Receive all maintenance-specific materials and parts, verify accuracy, and promptly enter them into the Maximo system.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and maintain a 97% accuracy rate on all technical spare parts.
  • Maintain organized storage areas aligned with 5S principles and BCOS standards.
  • Monitor and adjust minimum/maximum stock levels for critical components.
  • Ensure full traceability through accurate material records and documentation.

Maintenance & BCOS Support

  • Prepare and stage maintenance parts and kits for scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and equipment rebuilds.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Planner to ensure all materials are ready for weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.
  • Support BCOS pillars—particularly Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Planned Maintenance (PM), and Materials Management—by ensuring reliable part availability and identifying material-related losses.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and loss-elimination activities related to parts availability, component failures, or material handling gaps.
  • Uphold and execute established maintenance and safety standards, supporting the site’s BCOS culture.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planner, and Maintenance Technicians to ensure efficient execution of maintenance activities.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding parts availability, urgent needs, or technical material inquiries.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the maintenance department.

Compliance & Safety

  • Consistently meet or exceed all food safety, GMP, and employee safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
  • Follow all site procedures related to material handling, lift truck operation, and hazardous materials.

About You

  • College diploma, preferably in a technical, mechanical, or industrial discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance parts, tools, components, and equipment.
  • Valid lift truck operation experience.
  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including production and maintenance areas.
  • Comfortable working in hot environments.
  • Able to lift up to 20 kg.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to supporting maintenance reliability.
