Lead Production Planner

About the role
Responsible for the planning and forecasting of activities related to in house production. Optimize constraints, work with the internal team as well as all SC members on planned capacity. Maximize resources and minimize inventory, maintain a high delivery performance. Coordinating activities between customer service, Subcontractor, BC planning teams and transportation of all activities. Is cognizant and understanding of food safety and ensures, along with BC QA that all of these expectations are met. Responsible for the Planning flows and is alert when changes happen planned or unplanned by scheduling finished goods, semi-finished products, raw materials and packaging. Releases raw materials and packaging from our contracted suppliers. Systems are used and data is the key to making proper decisions. Demonstrate ownership of all planning activities and assist with innovation/new partner/new projects.
Key responsibilities
- Day to day follow up of all line schedules, materials in and out and communication throughout the BC Network.
- Ensure cross functional relationships and consistency of planning across multidisciplinary teams
- Define, coordinate and assure deliveries of materials and maximize OTIF
- Translate mid-term planning in daily scheduling, working with team members to execute.
- Respond and commit product availability date for sales and customer service.
- Communicate, do appropriate data entry and follow up on all non-conforming products via SAP.
- Lead end of month, quarterly and end of fiscal year inventory to ensure year end targets are met.
- Communicate all quality issues to BC and third party QA teams.
- Communicate all supplier issues to appropriate sourcing team members and vendors.
- Process and manage the return of product, whether internal or external. Keep sourcing or planning informed of any changes.
- Participate and manage weekly internal team planning meetings.
- Create expectations and collaborate with QA and all internal team members, as needed.
- Recommend/coordinate overtime if needed.
- Communicate with customer service, traffic, quality and production regarding any relevant changes.
- Works within all regulatory requirements, ensuring our partners understand and represent the BC values.
About you
- Associates degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience in a food environment.
- Experience working in SAP and MRP, as well as proven math skill.
- Computer Skills (Proficient use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, SAP, VMware)
