About the role

The Jr Production Planner is responsible for the planning and forecasting of activities related to production. Coordinating activities between customer service, production and traffic of all orders. The Jr Production Planner position is cognizant and understanding of food and employee safety and ensures application in their daily routine.

 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Establish, coordinate and organize short-term needs for the production lines. 
  • Manage and schedule rework, and projects for production.
  • Evaluate line/tank positions and adjust schedule to accommodate chocolate shipments, line capacity and customer demand.
  • Respond and commit product availability date for customers and track until shipping date.
  • Manage, use and maintain MRP and SAP tables.
  • Material setup and validation for production.
  • Manage inventory levels and safety stocks.
  • Release and follow up on raw materials and packaging purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Communicate all supplier issues to appropriate Management staff.
  • Process and manage the return of product to the supplier after buyer decision. Keep purchasing informed of any sudden demand changes.
  • Assist with covering vacations and absences.
  • Meets/exceeds requirements for food and employee safety.

 

 

About you

  • College Diploma/Associates Degree or equivalent of 3+ years’ experience of relevant manufacturing experience in a food environment.
  • Strong computer skills – including SAP, Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be aware of manufacturing methods, process improvements and procedures.
  • Proven math skills.

 

Other:

  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.
