About the role

As a Pricing Manager Iberia & Italy, you are the first point of contact for the Managing Directors for Iberia and Italy.

You manage a team of Pricing Analysts, to together develop competitive, accurate price proposals for the sales team using pricing models, market intelligence, and additional input from relevant stakeholders.

An ideal candidate will be able to form strong relationships with the commercial team, Finance-, R&D- and other functional stakeholders, to together land and protect the right business.

 

Key responsibilities inlcude

  • Manage, steer and engage the respective Pricing team.
  • Actively take part of the operational day-to-day pricing activities with team. Support the members on complicated pricing flows / discussions with stakeholders and customers.
  • Create competitive price proposals for the sales team, analyzing historic price and margin levels to drive profitable growth for your business unit
  • Present proposals to sales, utilizing market and internal data to validate and justify proposals; Book sales contracts upon agreement from customers to lock in business
  • Take pricing ownership of assigned accounts in an independent and proactive way
  • Actively manage the contracts for your team’s account portfolio in collaboration with the sales teams
  • Utilize open book pricing models, including commodity market coverage, margin analysis and proactive data management
  • Develop and manage effective and analytic reporting tools to support the business unit and the organization’s needs
  • Understand the commodity market fundamentals and gather in-depth knowledge on the chocolate manufacturing process in order to improve the pricing process
  • Review business performance with your Finance counterparts and MD. Discuss and apply corrective actions in Pricing approach
  • Attend Sales meetings and proactively engage into Pricing related discussions
  • Play an active role in the escalations process to land the right business.
  • Translate global or regional pricing principles/initiatives into concrete actions for your team
  • Take the lead in onboarding new teammembers.
  • Keep teammembers trained and updated through regular team meetings.
  • Collaborate in - or lead - Pricing related Projects

 

About you

  • You have a Master's Degree or equivalent by experience. Most of all, you combine a good set of analytical skills with a commercial feeling and a proactive can-do attitude
  • You are customer-oriented and driven and you have a “hands-on” mentality. You show high attention to detail.
  • You can think strategic and conceptual, but you enjoy the operational, ad hoc, and sometimes hectic daily reality of a commercial environment. You are of a resilient and stress resistant nature.
  • You have a good understanding of Pricing Mechanisms in B2B/trading environments, ideally in Chocolate/Cocoa.
  • You had a first experience in leading people. Engaging/motivating/leading others gives you energy.
  • You have the skills to communicate effectively with different stakeholder at different levels in an organization. You know how to explain complicated information in a conceptual and actionable manner.
  • You are able to establish good relationships with a diverse group of peers.
  • You are able to communicate effectively in English and Italian or Spanish, both written and verbal. You manage to bring messages across in a convincing manner.
  • The candidate is expected to be analytical, proactive, self-driven and possess excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Travel requirements: Up to 10% travel can be required
  • Others: Flexibility required in line with business needs (market dynamics, customer expectations, trading days during country specific public holidays,...)
