National Account Manager HoReCa and Bakery Chains (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a highly dynamic and experienced National Account Manager who will be responsible for the growth and profit of specific HoReCa & Bakery chain accounts throughout the UK. As an ambitious, experienced and highly motivated individual you will be able to quickly build relationships with customers and have a good understanding of how to drive growth through these customers. BC is a huge business to the ability to work cross functionally and be a team player is a must.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

 

  • Focus on growing and developing existing customers, together with generating new business (eg introduction of new products, focusing on our value added products)

  • Understand customer market, capability & position to create joint business plans that drive growth across BC’s product range (eg chocolate, decorations, specialties, cocoa, hot chocolate)

  • Develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders within the customer including sales, buying, technical, NPD & supply chain

  • Provide reports on customer and competitor activity, taking responsibility to share/take action where necessary

  • Arrange and manage quarterly business reviews with key customers

  • Coordinate Trade Marketing activities for your key customers

  • Contract Management: ensure timely administration of contract bookings and payments including formal follow up with appropriate parties eg customer/pricing officer/ credit control

 

EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a relevant field of study such as business, economics, or food science) with strong planning, organisation, and prioritising skills

  • Presentation Skills – outstanding presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong Account Management Skills and relationship building skills

  • Ability to analyse and manipulate data with strong computer literacy across Google, MS (Excel predominantly), SAP & Salesforce applications

  • Experience of anaysing market information and forecasting sales opportunities

  • Effective end to end project management

  • 5+ years FMCG experience managing Chain Accounts

  • Experience managing a full P&L

  • Full accountability for achieving sales targets and reporting requirements  

  • Demonstrated quantitative skills; ability to quickly learn in a very fast paced business environment.

  • Industry knowledge about foodservice and or manufacturing is preferred

  • Experience working with national distributors and foodservice operators is a strong plus

  • Technical knowledge: Experience on foodservice applications, machinery, food production is a strong plus

  • Preferably, experience in different segments and sub segments where our customers are active in: Bakery & Pastry, HoReCa, Chocolate Confectionary or Ice-Cream

  • Problem Solving/Analysis – define problems and identify solutions quickly; capable of implementing solutions

  • Business acumen: including analytical & quantitative analysis incl. financial understanding

  • Experienced in managing and influencing cross functional stakeholders/ regions.

  • Sound awareness of macroeconomics

  • Previous experience working using the contracting or pricelist model
