About the role

 

●    To maintain and develop sales volume and increase margin with the key UK customers customer base.  
●    To be the main point of contact within BC for specified customers and to take full responsibility for managing / coordinating all business interactions/transactions in a professional manner. 
●    To plan, organise, direct, coordinate and control all sales activities for the global account customers in order to achieve short- and long-term overall objectives within the global business unit strategy.
●    To proactively prospect for additional opportunities inside the existing customer base.
●    To act as the ‘customers’ voice within BC to ensure customer satisfaction and continuity of trading relationships.

 

Key Responsbilities

 

●    Focusing on growing and developing existing customers, together with generating new business. Key targets would include the introduction of new products focusing on our value added products.
●    Understand customer market, capability & position in order to create a joint business plan to drive growth in all major BC activities e.g chocolate, cocoa, specialties.
●    Develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders within the customer including, sales, buying, technical, NPD and supply chain.
●    To provide reports on customer and competitor activity including arranging and managing quarterly business reviews with key customers.
●    Having a full understanding of the customers’ strategies, their brands & categories in order to enable the offering of relevant solutions and identify future opportunities with the customers
●    To liaise about BC product portfolio, obtain technical and legal advice and liaise re trials for new products
●    To co-ordinate joint marketing activities
●    Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the long-term supply agreements, support HQ with all important changes in legislation and new factors appearing in the cluster which may impact cooperation between BC and the customers.
●    Initiate contacts with local management to create opportunities which will increase turnover with the customers, will build trust and will encourage the customers to increase the share of BC in their business.
●    To ensure customer compliance to agreed terms and conditions.
●    Contract Management - Ensure timely administration of contract bookings and payments including formal follow up with appropriate parties e.g. customer / pricing officer / credit control.
●    Be aware of direct and indirect competitors of BC and take responsibility to share / take action based on this. Good awareness of macroeconomics is needed to build credibility with customers.
●    Act as a spokesperson for Barry Callebaut on any relevant industry bodies.
●    Create multifunctional customer teams for particular customers in UK&I cluster to ensure smooth execution of the global/regional agreements, strong cooperation on the local level which will improve NPS score at the appointed customers.

 

About you

 

●    Technical degree in a related subject preferred.
●    Excellent communication skills, verbal and written including presentation skills, articulate and confident in delivery.
●    Strong account management and relationship building skills.
●    An ability to manipulate data, with strong computer literacy in all office programs and Google applications as well as Sales force.
●    Experience of business to business selling is essential. Experience of UK retail is preferable.
●    An ability to analyse and manipulate data, with strong computer literacy in all office programmes - especially Excel (Intermediate level)
●    Experience of analysing market information and forecasting sales opportunities
●    Proven track record of delivering business growth, prospecting and ability to secure positive networking relationships.
