An opportunity has become available for a cleaner in our purpose-built Academy.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness with some additional ad-hoc responsibilities to support the team. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, works on initiative, and enjoys being part of a closely-knit team.

 

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), Monday – Friday. On occasion, additional hours of work (including on a Saturday) may be required. 

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • To clean and maintain the high standards of the chocolate academy 
  • Adhere to demanding deep cleaning schedule
  • Nightly cleaning of all preparation areas
  • Rubbish management
  • Notify manager of any repairs required
  • Understand own responsibility for health and safety
  • Adhere to company rules
  • Understand the basic pest control as per training

 

Key candidate competencies include:

  • Integrity and trustworthy
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Self-motivation; ability to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision
  • Team player and able to work effectively alone
  • Strong work ethic; highly dependable

 

Required skills:

  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties
  • Good knowledge of correct manual handling of heavy equipment and machinery
  • Numerate, literate with good communication skills
  • Desirable: familiarity with material data sheets desirable
  • Desirable: good knowledge of GMP, HACCP, COCCH, food health and safety, cleaning chemicals (or the ability to be trained in these areas)

 

Proven past experience is not essential as full training will be given.
