Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all activities related to local Supply Chain: Warehouse and Transportation, Production Scheduling, Material Releasing. The Supply Chain Manager must assure the integrity of the inventory accuracy. Must ensure that all activities concerning replenishment, handling and warehousing of the raw materials, packaging supplies and finish goods for the plants are properly done. Overall responsibility and authority includes taking decision on all re-engineering procedures and processes for the local supply chain activities. Oversees Warehouse & Logistics Manager and Planning Supervisor.

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

Supervision:

  • Provide direction and support for all supply chain teams (planning, warehouse, traffic, and inventory).
  • Team’s Training & Development.
  • Reinforce company policies (Food & EE safety, Quality, Regulatory, Disciplinary, GMPs).

 

Inventory Management:

  • Assure the use of company assets by managing production lot sizes and supplier replenishment
  • Assure inventory budget targets of raw and packaging material and finish goods
  • Ensure that all raw and packaging material and finish goods inventory is properly engineered and linkage with planning is properly communicated
  • Ensure inventory accuracy

 

Material Handling

  • Manage reception of all goods at the site
  • Manage conformance of shipment with Bill of Lading
  • Optimize floor space utilization
  • Manage JIT deliveries to production lines
  • Coordinate the control and variances of the inventory differences

 

Replenishment

  • Manage MRP recommendations and ensures availability of raw and packaging material
  • Assure the processes of the replenishment and return of material related to supplier quality issues
  • Responsible to ensure supplier delivery, reliability and quantity compliance; addresses various issues as they occur
  • Communicates weekly our future material requirements with suppliers
  • Ensures that production scheduling is in line with customer requirements in order to meet the customer demand
  • Manages MRP recommendations of finish goods products and ensures that production scheduling optimizes the utilization of the production equipment
  • Works closely with Customer Service Manager in resolving with the scheduling department the different issues related to product shortages

 

Finance

  • Knows and understands the financial reports related to local activities.
  • Works with Regional Supply Chain Manager on the preparation of the labor and expenses budget.
  • Explains monthly variances to budget.
  • Analyzes financial impact of decisions and prioritizes efforts

 

General

  • Leads and participates in operations/site project teams as required.
  • Develops, tracks and publishes weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators.
  • Committed to providing a safe food product.
  • Works within all regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety and food defense requirements.
  • Notify the leader in charge of any anomaly that is outside the procedure.
  • Respect the safety rules and take care of yourself and your colleagues respecting and following the safety procedures in force in the company.
  • Report unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions.
  • Commit to fulfill the expectations of quality and service of the clients, as well as the current regulatory compliance applicable to the food industry.
  • Responsible for reporting any situation of potential or real danger to your manager and the Quality department.
  • Keep the area, tools and equipment in your care clean and tidy.
  • Firmly follow the GMP’s.

 

 

About you:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 5+ years in supply chain positions in leadership positions, ideally in the food manufacturing.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP and WMS appropriate modules.
  • ERP or related experience needed.
  • Leadership experience required (supervision/management).
  • Strong communication skills & customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meeting deadlines.
  • Can cope with change. Exhibits leadership and is looked to for direction.
  • Dedicated to meet expectations and requirements of internal and external suppliers.
  • Ability to manage at macro and micro level.
  • Quality and timely decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement.
  • Needs to negotiate skillfully in tough situations, works effectively with others, has strong inter-personal skills, can communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and has good presentation skills.
  • Sets objectives and goals, measures performance against goals. Resolves problems and roadblocks to meet objectives.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving and organization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
