About the role
Under the direction of the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for all activities related to warehouse shipments and inbounds. This employee will check drivers in and out of appointments, keeps accurate records organized together in an effective and easy to retrieve manner. Operates Yard jockey as needed.


Key responsibilities include

  • Responsible for integrity of shipping/inbound schedule
  • Verifies destination with each driver
  • Assigns dock locations to drivers based on stock locations to maximize loading/unloading efficiency
  • Responsible for calling out and addressing risks of detention time
  • Ensures timely weighing of all bulk inbounds and outbound.
  • Reports delays in any Appointments to Logistics coordinator and Transport as needed
  • Responsible for integrity of Dashboard accuracy
  • Perform daily local liaison functions between transport and Warehouse
  • Coordinate closely with Logistics coordinator on daily schedule issues or changes.
  • Help with resolution of complaints for the warehouse by timely retrieval necessary documentation
  • Complies with and participates in Audits
  • Ensures only current up-to-date controlled documents are used in operations
  • Coordinates effectively and professionally with all departments.
  • Safe and effective operation of Yard truck
  • Coordinates with department to ensure integrity of preloaded tanker flow.
  • Must be willing to work at least 1 weekend day a week
  • Backfills Material Handler duties as needed
  • Executes reception or posting of Bulk items when needed.
  • Ensures all necessary paperwork is available at check in. Reports any non-conformance immediately.
  • Scans all inbound paperwork into SAP as drivers are checked in
  • Performs daily checks of Sugar Magnets
  • Notify the leader in charge of any anomaly that is outside the procedure.
  • Respect the safety rules and take care of yourself and your colleagues respecting and following the  safety procedures in force in the company.
  • Report unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions.
  • Commit to fulfill the expectations of quality and service of the clients, as well as the current regulatory compliance applicable to the food industry.
  • Responsible for reporting any situation of potential or real danger to your superior and the Quality department.
  • Keep the area, tools and equipment in your care clean and tidy.
  • Firmly follow the GMP’s.



  • High school diploma or equivalency.

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years in warehouse operations with emphasis on food industry desired.
  • Communicates professionally  to various parties via Email, Chat and phone
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel.
  • ERP or related experience needed, SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, and part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Initiative/Flexibility-Takes action before being requested to do so
  • Must be able to adhere to all GMP and food safety rules

  • Available for overtime when required.
