About the Graduate Program:

Our 2-year rotational Technical Graduate Program for Africa creates an opportunity for young talents like you to deepen your expertise in an area that you are passionate about. The program is launched in Barry Callebaut’s most strategic African locations, where our Graduate’s expertise is valued and entrepreneurship fostered. This graduate program will also offer you international experience and the opportunity to develop technical skills and develop your leadership potential in order to become a leader in the Electrical and Automation Engineering field in our Africa Region.

 

About the Opportunity:

We are offering you the opportunity to further develop your career within our automation and electricity department. Over the 2 year term, you will gain significant international experience with the opportunity to undertake at least one rotation abroad.

 

Over the 3 rotations, you will gain experience across core areas including:

 

Automation & Instrumentation

  • Completion of projects related to Automation and Electricity
  • Project management with Simatic Manager & TIA Portal
  • Programming languages in Simatic Manager and TIA Portal
  • implementation of PLC S7-300 and S7-1500
  • Reliability and availability of equipment for automation and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of network profibus and Ethernet architecture
  • Knowledge of Human Machine Interface and SCADA monitoring
  • Knowledge of critical equipment operation
  • Troubleshooting with programmable device
  • Follow up automation procedures

 

Electricity

  • Compliance with industrial electrical facilities
  • knowledge of low and medium voltage
  • knowledge of transformers
  • knowledge of genset and air compressor
  • implementation of transmitters (temperature, level, pressure ...)
  • Implementation of variable speed devices
  • Calibration, verification of monitoring and measuring equipment
  • Electrical basic safety rules
  • Follow up electrical & automation procedures
  • Maintenance planning and management with Maximo
  • Job preparation & execution.

 

Quality, Safety, and Process

  • Basic HSE & GMP Competencies
  • Knowledge of cocoa beans processing and critical equipment (roaster, grinder...)

 

About You

  • Electrical engineer or Automation engineer or equivalent degree
  • Project Management knowledge
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage
  • Knowledge of Maximo is a plus
  • Bilingual French/English
  • Internationally mobile and willing to relocate to other African locations (Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroun)
  • Eager to learn
  • Listen, support, and collaborate well with others
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Solid analytical skills and always striving for excellence
  • Good planning skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to other
  • Positive thinking

 

NB:  To qualify for our graduate program applicants must bring a maximum of two (02) years experience including industrial internships, and must hold a Bachelor’s Degree preferably complemented with a Master’s Degree.
