International Trade Manager

About the role

As International Trade Manager you design and execute the export of goods to all our customers outside the European Union. You advise our international sales teams on how to effectively deliver our products taking in to account cost, speed and quality of service.  You take full ownership of the order to cash process and guarantee compliance to local and international trade agreements. You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the export team and manage a team of 10 export professionals.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Build, lead, coach and motivate a team of 10 export professionals responsible to serve our international customers
  • Support your business partners to design efficient distribution strategies for customers and ensure compliance to local and international regulations,
  • Organize international shipments compliant with international trade, food and customs regulations
  • Build and maintain excellent service relation with logistical service providers
  • Advise on and resolves complex international trade problems in a timely and effective manner,
  • Build strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders and regularly evaluate the cooperation with customers, suppliers, sales and other internal partners,
  • Objectively measure and report on BC’s service performance relevant to export,
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities and keep up to speed with market developments,
  • Monitor budget execution and makes sure committed volumes are shipped on time,
  • Report directly into the Customer Care Director and with dotted lines to the VP EEMEA


About you

  • Ideally you will hold a Master Degree or equivalent, with specialization in international trade
  • At least 5 years relevant experience as Senior Manager in an export management role
  • Good understanding of sales and marketing strategies
  • Strong knowledge and experience on international trade and customs
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial landscape relevant to land, sea, rail and air transport
  • A commercially astute individual with excellent relationship building skills
  • Ability to develop a performing and knowledge driven team and foster a positive team spirit
  • Highly computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally SAP & Transwide)
  • Experience with implementation of service measurements and continuous improvement methodology
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively on different levels
  • Highly organized, proactive and have a methodical approach to work
  • Capacity to react to changing situations
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of any other key European language is an asset.
