POSITION TITLE: Production Planner
REPORTING TO: Planning Manager
LOCATION: St. Albans, VT

This position is responsible for scheduling finished goods and semi-finished products. Release raw materials and packaging from our contracted suppliers
SHIFT HOURS: Tuesday thru Friday with weekend and vacation coverage. Three(3) days on site, one(1) day remote.

- Establish, coordinate and organize short-term needs for the production lines
- Organize and coordinate the replenishment of product needed between each site
- Work with project coordinator on rework projects
- Evaluate position and adjust schedule to accommodate chocolate reception, line capacity and customer demand
- Respond and commit product availability date for various customers
- Work with and communicate closely with customer service and traffic to inform them of any relevant changes
- Enter, communicate and follow up on all non-conformances via SAP
- Manage and use MRP
- Maintain material master for MRP views
- Manage inventory levels and safety stocks
- Follow up on a daily basis with production to ensure that the schedule is followed
- Challenge the production department as needed
- Release raw material and packaging purchase orders to our suppliers
- Follow up deliveries of raw material and packaging purchase orders
- Inform and communicate to the purchasing director any issues with suppliers
- Work closely with capacity analyst and the central planning team, on demand changes, supply issues and open capacity
- Prepare/coordinate weekly meetings with customers, sales, and other departments
- Process and manage the return of product to the supplier, following the buyer’s decision
- Assist Material Planning Manager with inventory
- Communicate with purchasing any sudden changes in demand
- Cross train team members
- Participate in operation/site projects
- Recommend overtime to production as needed
About you:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience, required
- Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills, required
- Excel, SAP, and MRP experience, preferred
- Good math skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Long periods of computer usage; finger dexterity and hand movement for use of keyboard and mouse, repetitive motion
- Noise level in manufacturing facility can exceed .85 decibels
