About the role

Southeast Asia, comprising over 10 markets, is already a major cluster for Barry Callebaut’s Gourmet business in Asia-Pacific and shows significant potential for continuous growth. We are looking for a talented & creative regional marketing manager to actively contribute to the acceleration of this growth.  Overseeing the promotion of our entire Gourmet brand portfolio across our key market segments (BAPA, HORECA, CASH & CARRY), this role will be leading our key regional brand initiatives, in order to maximize market share, top line and bottom line.


Key responsibilities include

  • Strategy VHP portfolio extension & regional distribution expansion:
    • Portfolio extension: together with sales managers prepare the launch of new VHP cocoa powders focusing on Malaysia first, then other markets. Manage VHP’s new product launch plan based on market needs.
    • Regional distribution expansion: support new distributors with tools, training & programs
  • Key events & brand activities: define yearly plan & organize/coordinate key regional events including trade shows (ex. Singapore’s FHA in March 2020) & brand activities
  • Technical support SEA coordination: technical support is a key volume driver. Linked with our business plan, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for coordinating/optimizing the activities & schedule of our 3 regional technical advisors, both off-site and at our Chocolate Academy in Singapore.
  • Social Media: using the Philippines as the benchmark for Instagram & Facebook, define & implement social media strategy & content for Van Houten Professional brand in other core markets of Malaysia, Thailand & Singapore. We target launch in all 3 markets by August 2020.
  • Provide monthly & ad-hoc reporting & analysis to the management, including:
  • Evolution Vs KPIs
    • Key actions for the next 3 months
    • Yearly brand reviews
    • Product portfolio analysis to optimize volume and profitability
  • Internal Stakeholders: Gourmet sales director & sales managers, Gourmet technical advisors, Global Gourmet marketing team, APAC marketing colleagues, Gourmet finance controller
  • External: Importers, wholesalers, end-users, Ambassadors, Journalists, bloggers


About you

  • Bachelor degree
  • Fluent in English: written & spoken, a second language will be a plus (Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, etc.)
  • Minimum 6 years in marketing & sales in a B2B environment
  • Industry knowledge is an advantage but not compulsory
  • Successful track record in segment strategy, Social Media brand activation & new product launch will be a clear plus.
  • Analytical skills, creativity, great interpersonal skills, forward-looking, ability to work independently is key
