POSITION TITLE: Sr. HR Coordinator

REPORTING TO: Local HR Manager

LOCATION: Pennsauken, NJ

Barry Callebaut is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Sr. HR Coordinator to join our Pennsauken team. This highly visible role is the first point of contact for visitors and employees guests. This role is responsible for coordinating HR activities on a variety of levels, providing support to the employees, HR Manager, Site Manager..As the world’s largest Chocolate and Cocoa manufacturer, Barry Callebaut is committed to providing the very best customer and employee experience possible.


Essential Functions:

  • Recruit for open positions at the Pennsauken and Pennsauken Nut Facilities
  • Perform new hire orientation and onboarding functions
  • Assure compliance with equal employment opportunity regulations
  • Work with Temporary agencies as needed to fill shot-tem-roles
  • Responsible for HR backup and support of US payrolls
  • Responsible for final secondary approval on ADP payroll on a weekly basis
  • Act as liaison for supervisors, employees and agency staff
  • Research, answer and follow-up on employee questions regarding benefits and company policies
  • Work with benefits and payroll departments to address related issues
  • Assure employee records/files are maintained properly in accordance with regulatory laws
  • Maintains up-to-date lists of a variety of employee information such as: FMLA list, Leave of Absence, Workers Comp, Seniority lists,, rate lists, job descriptions, etc. as necessary
  • Coordinates leaves and return to work actions; contacts employees, workers comp providers, supervisors, etc., on  a timely basis
  • Keep supervisor up-to-date on current events and obtain necessary approvals for actions
  • Assist Manager with special requests and projects
  • Attend seminars as required to keep up-to-date on areas of involvement and continue development
  • Coordinates a variety of projects utilizing organizational skills
  • Maintain legal bulletin boards at all sites
  • Maintain OJT Training and related records in connection with BRC certification – Work with supervisors to assure training is conducted on a timely basis and proper documentation is prepared and maintained
  • Participating in the Safety Committee meetings once a month.  Compose minutes of meetings and distribute to Committee members, Managers and Supervisors.  Keep current and maintain OSHA logs, Safety statistics (accident log and hours worked): turnover and accidents by department
  • Order office suppliesMaintain plant uniform requests and billing
  • Perform HR office administrative functions; answer phones and greet visitors; distribute mail; organize paychecks to distribute
  • Committed to providing a safe food product

  • Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements




Education & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5 years of relevant office administration experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Bachelor’s degree or related experience
  • Proficient with computer programs such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Office, ADP, SAP
  • Basic knowledge of employee benefit plans
  • Ability to work effectively in a positive, enthusiastic manner with employees and managers at all levels, and external consultants and representatives
  • Present a positive and professional image to applicant’s and employees
  • Ability to make decisions and work well in a fast paced (at times stressful) environment
  • Must be comfortable imputing computer data at times for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to freely move around the entire plant and office areas
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
  • Must be able to travel between both sites on a regular basis
