Refiner Assistant (night shift)

About the role:
The Refiner Assistant works with the Chocolate Operators to run the plant refiners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the care, operation and safety of the equipment in the Chocolate Manufacturing Dept.
- Receive production orders from Production Supervisor, Production Manager, QA and R&D
- Responsible for any duties to assist on the floor the chocolate operator in charge of the refiners
- Assist DIDS operations as needed
- Must be able to perform tasks of the pre-refiners , refiner and Dry Ingredient Dump Station operator positions ( including paperwork and HACCP checks)
- Must be able to perform sampling, testing and measuring of the refiner’s flakes and makes adjustment for products to meet specifications
- Make production checks to control quality and adjust the formulation accordingly
- Has responsibility for the sanitary cleaning of the food contacts areas, such as (and not limited too) refiners, belts conveyors
- Responsible for sanitation of work area
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as required by Management
- Must comply with all OSHA standards
- Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP requirements, and BRC standards for the area and function involved
- Committed to providing a safe food product
- Works within all regulatory requirements
- Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements
- Perform all other related duties as required
About you:
- Seniority and Relative skill and ability
- Must have 4 or less occurrrences
- Must be able to communicate appropriately with Supervisors and Co-Workers (Verbal and simple written reports are required)
- Must be able to apply Supervisor's direction
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the equipment and operations within 30 days of actively training on the job
- Must obtain forklift certification as soon as possible after receiving position
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
