About the role

  • The new European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) ensures that seven commodity products, including cocoa and palm oil, are no longer sold in the EU if sourced from areas affected by deforestation or forest degradation practices.
  • The DDS Manager will ensure compliance with EUDR by managing the team responsible for reporting Due Diligence Statement (DDS) to the EU information system. This role demands highly developed organizational skills, team management, rigor, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • DDS Management for all Barry Callebaut import/production/export flows globally

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Lead a team of operators responsible for creating and managing the DDS.
  • Ensure timely creation and management of DDS, following the requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
  • Collaborate with Sourcing teams in case of errors or exceptions during the DDS creation process.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service teams in case customer requests or complaints are linked to their DDS.
  • Monitor and evaluate most common exceptions and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay informed about developments and updates to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and its impact on the DDS Management process.
  • Maintain accurate DDS process documentation.
  • Travel requirements: 10%

 

About you

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering, or similar
  • 7-10+ years of experience in leading operational teams
  • Proven track record in leading change
  • Ability to operate in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Fluent knowledge of English
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Proficient in data visualization tools and software, such as Excel and Power BI
  • Excellent ability in organizational skills, communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and manage operational teams.
  • Proven resilience and ability to overcome obstacles and deliver results.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in an extremely high volume/fast-paced environment.
