About the role:
The role coordinates and executes financial consolidation activities in accordance with group-wide (international) / national accounting principles and standards for the assigned scope. This role reviews, prepares, combines, and documents financial information from subsidiary companies / business entities within the organization for reporting purposes. A person on this position will ensure that the financial consolidation governance framework is maintained, process and system improvements are implemented, and operations are optimized, as assigned by the Group Financial Consolidation Team Leader. This role proactively shares expertise among team members to maintain a body of knowledge / backup structure.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute and/or support closing cycles and financial consolidation (monthly closing activities)
- Manage closing cycles and review accounting packages and notes (year-end & half year closing activities)
- Hold internal training on financial consolidation topics
- Support on coordinating and managing the transition of financial consolidation activities as well as managing robust backup structures and teams for financial consolidation
- Train team members through various learning and development initiatives (e.g., knowledge-sharing)
- Document and improve financial consolidation processes. Develop, maintain, and promote financial consolidation knowledge related to SAP BW. (Process improvements)
- Support on introducing new financial consolidation concepts and reports including checks/balances (in SAP BW) (reports improvements)
- Support for developing and implementing closing cycle automation initiatives and other financial projects
About you:
- University degree in economics, finance, or similar.
- Experience of 2-3 years in a Group or Business Unit controller function including experience in consolidation and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Fluency in English
- High IT affinity (namely related to consolidation tools).
- Advances or professional skills in MS Excel (VBA would be an advantage).
- Very good analytical, conceptual and connective cogitation and a hands-on and detail-conscious work style.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work reliably and independently also under deadline pressure.
