About the role

Regional maintenance engineer is accountable for implementing maintenance-related initiative across the region. Supporting all the factories to roll out the standard maintenance program that ensures safety & product quality are not discounted, equipment sustainability, maximize productivity and minimize maintenance cost. Coordinate with maintenance lead on each site to achieve agreed targets.


Key responsibilities include

  • Supporting all the factories to roll out the standard maintenance program that ensures safety & product quality are not discounted, equipment sustainability, maximize productivity and minimize maintenance cost.
    • Ensure regional standard maintenance plan are review at least annually.
    • Coordinate each factory's maintenance planner to implement or update the regional standard maintenance plan accordingly.
    • Lead each factory's maintenance planner to prepare, implement and review the regional standard work instruction. Ensure the standard work instructions are update or review at least once a year.
    • Create or update the regional spares parts specification database accordingly.
    • Organize and lead the maintenance workshop or conference calls to align maintenance practices regionally and globally.
  • Lead, Plan and Execute the maintenance initiative projects for the region.
    • Identify the opportunities base on data analysis.
    • Develop necessary programs, projects or activities to ensure maintenance best practices are implement at all the factories.
    • Lead and drive the stakeholders to execute and deliver the deliveries accordingly.
    • Ensure feedback, tracking and review to complete the continuous improvement cycles.
  • Track the maintenance performance for all factories
    • Coordinate with each factory's maintenance lead to update the necessary indicators.
    • Monitor and ensure the CMMS dashboard are up-to-date. Escalate when data are not updated or system malfunctions.
    • Review and update the maintenance indicators at least annually.
    • Align measuring indicators with global and regional strategies.
    • Implement and support continuous improvement methodologies with accurate and transparent maintenance data.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement
    • The regional root cause analysis champions.
    • Excels on root cause analysis methodology and implement it throughout all activities, both technical challenges, and maintenance management practices.
    • Guide and train maintenance personnel on root cause analysis approach, become the root cause analysis ambassador.
  • CMMS (Maximo) regional key user
    • Coordinate with CMMS (Maximo) site key-user for conference calls, training activities, workshops and so on.
    • Ensure workflows are implemented accordingly, enforce correction activities if any deviations.
    • Create, review and update workflows, reports, and dashboards according to global and regional strategies. Review at least annually.
    • Generate necessary reports for regional continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintenance and Reliability auditor
    • Identify necessary maintenance and reliability audits.
    • Create, review and update the maintenance audit checklist accordingly. Review at least annually
    • Execute maintenance and reliability audits and follow-up the corrective actions systematically.
    • Train related stakeholders to execute the audits referring to the audit checklist.
    • Maintain the audit checklist, audit completion form, and corrective actions list database.
  • Safety, Quality and Food Safety ambassador
    • Always role model on safety, quality and food safety for all factories.
    • Communicate the value of safety, quality, and food safety to all maintenance team members within the region.
    • Visit all factories and verify that the areas attributed to maintenance are safe, clean, orderly, and are operating efficiently.

About you

  • Bachelor/Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 7 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment (processor food industry).
  • Must be able to work within SOP’s, GMP, ISO, HACCP and OSHA standards.
  • Effective coordinating skill
  • Performance-driven managerial skill.
  • Familiar with industrial maintenance and reliability management. A huge advantage for CMRP certified candidates.
  • Successful experience in improving maintenance indicators like rework, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, resource utilization rate, plan compliance, maintenance cost, backlog, stock-out and so on.
  • Hands-on experience with processing equipment such as presses, mills, packing line, chiller system, hydraulic & pneumatic system, steam system, blower, screw conveyor, rotary feeder and so on.
  • Electrical/PLC system knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) like SAP and Maximo.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • English and Bahasa is a MUST. Mandarin, Japanese and Hindi are nice to have.
